In 2024 Nexus turs 40, so to mark this anniversary we're asking you, our supporters, to consider taking part in our 40 for 40 appeal.

We're aiming to get 40 of you on board to fundraise for us and help us increase our ability to support children and adults impacted by sexual abuse and abusive relationships in Northern Ireland.

To put our work into context, from 1st April 2023 to 31st March 2024, we delivered 18,884 counselling sessions to people age 8+ impacted by sexual abuse and managed 24,943 calls to the Domestic and Sexual Abuse Helpline for Northern Ireland. In the same period, the Police Service of Northern Ireland recorded 4,090 sexual offences crimes and 19,954 domestic abuse crimes, though we know many more will have gone unreported.

We're keeping this appeal open to interpretation - maybe you'll challenge yourself to embark on a challenge to fundraise, for example completing 40 miles in the 40 days from 4th November to 12th December, which is our anniversary period. Or perhaps you'd rather organise a coffee morning and invite 40 people (you could even do a virtual coffee morning!). If you're an enthusiastic party planner, you might even want to mark the year of our inception (1984) with a fun 80s throwback party fundraiser! Or, maybe you'd rather keep things low key and simply aim to raise £40. 

However you choose to support our 40 for 40 appeal, we're incredibly grateful. We're not setting a financial target ourselves as we know this time of year can be expensive, but if you'd like to set yourself a target that's great!
